Abstract:
This bundled publication compiles mineralogical, geochemical, stable-isotope, age-model, and mass-accumulation-rate data from the Alano di Piave sedimentary section in northeastern Italy across the Middle Eocene Climatic Optimum (MECO). The collection includes sample-level bulk-rock quantitative phase analysis by X-ray diffraction; major- and trace-element concentrations and elemental ratios from previously published XRF data realigned to the adopted stratigraphic depth scale; bulk-carbonate carbon- and oxygen-isotope records; age-depth tie points and calculated linear sedimentation rates; and sample-level total and component-specific mass accumulation rates. Mass accumulation rates were calculated using the adopted linear sedimentation rates, lithology-dependent dry bulk density values, and mineral abundances. Phase-averaged linear sedimentation and mass accumulation rates are also provided for the pre-MECO, MECO onset, peak, recovery, and post-MECO intervals. The six datasets are organized within a common stratigraphic and chronological framework to facilitate comparison of mineralogical, elemental, and stable-isotope variations across the event.
