Abstract:
This table summarizes phase-average linear sedimentation rates and total and mineral-specific mass accumulation rates for the Alano di Piave section, northeastern Italy. Values were derived from the sample-level mass-accumulation dataset and grouped according to five stratigraphic intervals: pre-Middle Eocene Climatic Optimum (MECO), MECO onset, peak MECO, MECO recovery, and post-MECO. The summary was prepared to compare first-order changes in total sediment accumulation, carbonate accumulation, quartz–feldspar accumulation, total clay-mineral accumulation, and smectite-rich illite/smectite mixed-layer accumulation among the phases. The underlying calculations combine the GTS2020-based age model, lithology-dependent dry bulk-density values, and quantitative X-ray diffraction mineral abundances. The phase averages provide an interpretive summary and should be used together with the sample-level table, because assigned dry bulk-density values make the estimates semi-quantitative rather than direct absolute-flux measurements.
