Abstract:
This data publication provides a traceable and uniformly reconstructed radiocarbon chronological framework for marine sediment cores from the subarctic North Pacific, including the Bering Sea, Gulf of Alaska, Sea of Okhotsk, and open subarctic Pacific. Radiocarbon determinations were compiled from published sources, screened at the individual determination level, recalibrated with Marine20 using subregion-specific local reservoir corrections (ΔR), and incorporated into Bayesian age–depth models generated with a common rbacon protocol.
The final release contains 18 canonical age–depth models. The accompanying master inventory documents 19 main core or core-segment records, including one segment for which no chronology could be constructed, together with two transition-zone records retained outside the main study domain for provenance. The radiocarbon compilation contains 555 records; 28 constraints identified as unsuitable for surface-sediment chronology are retained transparently in the archive but excluded from model input.
For each canonical model, the release provides the reconstructed age–depth relationship and posterior chronological uncertainty evaluated on a standardized 201-point depth grid. The median width of the 95% posterior credible interval is supplied as the primary continuous measure of protocol-conditional chronological precision; categorical precision classes are provided only as derived convenience bins. The package also contains model inputs, dated-depth clusters, diagnostic outputs, custom JSON/CSV per-record packages, metadata, data dictionaries, provenance information, and reproducibility and audit records.
The chronology products quantify posterior uncertainty conditional on the adopted calibration and modelling protocol. They do not independently establish absolute chronological accuracy or the correctness of deglacial marine reservoir corrections. The dataset is intended to provide a transparent and reproducible chronological foundation for comparison and reuse of subarctic North Pacific marine sediment records.
