Abstract:
In preparation for the deep drilling of the Beyond Epica Oldest Ice deep ice core, surface cores were drilled at Little Dome C drilling site to characterise how the climate signal is recorded in the firn. The ICORDA-LDC firn core (75°17.586 S, 122°24.808 E) was drilled in January 2023. We present the density profile of the core as measured in the field.
