Abstract:
Scanning electron microscope (SEM) images of labradorite sands before and after fluid injection experiments. Images were acquired using an FEI Quanta 600 Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope with a backscattered electron detector (BSE). Figure 3a shows original labradorite sands prior to fluid injection, Figure 3b shows labradorite sands after brine injection under high-pressure conditions, and Figure 3c shows labradorite sands after CO2-brine injection under high-pressure conditions. The bright contrast observed in Figure 3c is attributed to surface coating and charging effects during SEM imaging.
