Abstract:
This dataset contains wind measurements recorded by three Young A05103 anemometers located approximately 800 m from Concordia Station, East Antarctica, as well as derived parameters calculated from these measurements. The dataset includes date with UTC time (TIMESTAMP), wind speed [m s⁻¹] and wind direction (degrees, 0 = North, +90 = East) for each anemometer (wsp_0_WVc(1), wsp_1_WVc(1), wsp_2_WVc(1)), the height of each instrument (z0, z1, z2) [cm], snow flux [kg/m/s ] calculated for a threshold wind speed of 6 m s⁻¹ following the formula of Schmidt, R. A. (1982), with an air density of 0.95 kg/m3 and aerodynamic roughness of 1mm (flux_flat), and the resultant drift direction (RDD). The observations were collected as part of a long-term study of snow surface evolution aimed at quantifying the role of snow in Antarctica climate. The primary purpose of this dataset is to provide standardized quantitative descriptors of snow barchan migration and geometry for use in studies of surface processes, wind-driven sediment transport, and landscape evolution in polar environments.

Comment:
This dataset has been carefully reviewed and curated in accordance with PANGAEA's exceptionally high quality standards. However, due to discontinued communication from the authors' side, it did not receive the usual formal approval by the authors and therefore lacks final scientific validation.
