Abstract:
This dataset contains measurements of Suspended Particulate Matter (SPM) at the surface and at a depth of 10 m. Water samples were collected from January until March 2023 in Maxwell Bay (Potter Cove and Marian Cove), and Admiralty Bay (Ezcurra Inlet and Lussich Cove) during the ANT-Land-SIGMA-I campaign, and in the austral summer of 2024/25 in Admiralty Bay (Mackellar Inlet and Lussich Cove, December 2024), and Maxwell Bay, including Potter Cove (January, February 2025), Marian Cove (January 2025), and Collins Harbour (February 2025), as well as Stranger Point (February 2025) within the ANT-Land-SIGMA-II campaign. Water samples were acquired from a Zodiac Nautic inflatable boat. Surface water was sampled using 1.5 L HDPE bottles that were triple-rinsed with seawater before sampling. Water samples from 10 m depth were obtained using a 5 L Niskin bottle. SPM concentrations were determined gravimetrically: Between 0.25 and 2 L of fjord water was filtered through pre-combusted and pre-weighed 25 mm Whatman glass fibre filters (GF/F). Filters were dried at 60 °C for 48 h and stored with silica gel until reweighing.
