Abstract:
We present quality-controlled XRF scanning data and element correlation values for marine sediment cores from IODP Expedition 403 Eastern Fram Strait Paleoarchive, Svyatogor Ridge, Site U1620 (78°16.3332' N; 5°53.6161' E), drilled at ~ 1,500–1,600 m water depth. Expedition 403 took place between June 4 and August 2, 2024. The cores were scanned in the fall of 2024 using the third generation Avaatech XRF core scanner at the IODP Gulf Coast Repository, College Station, Texas. Site U1620 cores were scanned at ~5 cm step on the spliced core composite depth scale (CCSF-A), with selected sections scanned at a 3 mm step and higher excitation level (50 kV). Data presented here are described in Monito et al. (in review).
IODP Site U1620 quality-controlled XRF data for an additional scan of Section U1620A-17X-7A at a higher excitation energy (50 kV). Element abundance (K-alpha area) is reported in units of x-ray counts. Entries with Ar values greater than zero and total counts per second less than or equal to zero have been removed.
