1. Characteristics of study participants: Ukrainian refugee mothers aged 20–45 who fled to Germany with their children after the war escalated in February 2022. Thirty-two Ukrainian refugee mothers living in Berlin or Frankfurt (Oder) at the time of the study were interviewed. The research examined their experiences of displacement, integration processes, aspirations to return, and future plans in Germany. The study includes interviews with women from urban and rural areas in the east, west, centre and south of Ukraine. 2. Characteristics of the study participants: Ukrainian refugee women with children from various regions of Ukraine. The focus is on the impact of displacement and motherhood on mobility decisions, support needs and life aspirations. 3. Characteristics of study participants: Ukrainian mothers who have experienced forced migration and have caregiving responsibilities for children. Women who arrived in Germany after the escalation of war in Ukraine were interviewed. The interviews explored the intersection of motherhood and migration, transnational family relationships, and everyday life in the host country. 4. Characteristics of study participants: Highly educated Ukrainian refugee women with children living in Germany. Most participants held university degrees and had diverse professional backgrounds prior to displacement. This study examines the influence of educational and occupational biographies on integration trajectories, employment opportunities and future aspirations. 5. Ukrainian refugees with temporary protection status in Germany. This study examines the experiences of Ukrainian refugee mothers who have received protection under the EU Temporary Protection Directive. Particular attention is given to their intentions regarding return, their aspirations for settling down, and the role of their legal status in shaping their life plans. 6. Ukrainian refugee mothers living in Berlin and Frankfurt (Oder). To explore differences in reception conditions, support structures, social networks and integration opportunities, women living in both a large metropolitan city and a medium-sized city were interviewed. 7. 32 Ukrainian refugee mothers (aged 20–45) with children who arrived in Germany in 2022. A qualitative longitudinal study comprising two interview rounds, focusing on experiences of displacement, living conditions, motherhood, integration, mobility and aspirations for return.
