Abstract:
This dataset contains absolute and relative abundance data of planktic foraminifera from Ocean Drilling Program (ODP) Sites 198-1209 and 198-1210 (Shatsky Rise, subtropical Pacific Ocean) spanning the interval from approximately 54.47 to 50.91 Ma across the Early Eocene Climatic Optimum (EECO). Absolute abundances (individuals per gram of dry sediment) were determined for the genera Acarinina, Morozovella, and Subbotina, together with the species Morozovella crater. The dataset also includes sample information, age model (from Westerhold et al., 2018), water depth, relative abundances from Filippi et al., 2025, and log-transformed abolsute abundance values. These data provide the quantitative basis for investigating changes in planktic foraminiferal assemblages during prolonged greenhouse conditions of the EECO.
