Abstract:
This dataset compiles mercury (Hg) concentrations of surface marine sediments (max. depth: 47 cm) in the nearshore zone of the Yukon coast. Samples were taken during the Yukon Coast 2024 (YC24) expedition in July 2024 and during previous expeditions to the Yukon Coastal Plain and Qikiqtaruk-Herschel Island. The YC24 samples were taken with a Van Veen grab sampler or a gravity corer and frozen and stored under dark, air-free conditions until analysis. All samples were freeze-dried and ground using a planetary mill. For Hg analysis, a Milestone Direct Mercury Analysis System (DMA-80 evo, MWS-GmbH) was used.
