Abstract:
This data set contains quality-controlled observations from a GEOMAR mooring deployment. Depending on the mooring configuration, measurements may include pressure, temperature, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, and current velocity recorded by oceanographic instruments throughout the deployment period.
Data Processing: Instruments equipped with pressure, temperature, conductivity, and oxygen sensors were calibrated in situ immediately before deployment and after recovery by attaching them to the CTD frame during CTD/O2 casts. Sensor readings were compared with calibrated CTDO2 observations during dedicated calibration stops lasting several minutes. Correction terms were derived from the differences between the moored instruments and the CTDO measurements and subsequently applied to the complete deployment records. Calibration-stop results were additionally validated using nearby CTD observations obtained during the deployment (CTD data of deployment cruise: https://doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.910558) and recovery cruises (CTD data of recovery cruise: https://doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.963942). This procedure enables the detection and correction of potential sensor drift and provides estimates of calibration and measurement uncertainties. Details of the deployment and recovery operations are documented in the corresponding cruise reports.
