Abstract:
Globigerinoides ruber d13C and d18O and N. dutertrei d13C, d18O and Cd/Ca for core GeoB22230-2 (stable oxygen and carbon isotopes were measured using a Finnigan MAT 252 isotope ratio mass spectrometer equipped with a "Kiel Ⅲ" automated carbonate preparation system at MARUM-Center for Marine Environment Sciences of the University of Bremen, Germany. The mass spectrometer was calibrated using an in-house carbonate standard (ground Solnhofen limestone) prior to sample analyses. This lab standard had been previously calibrated against NBS-19 (National Bureau of Standards, USA) calcite; the stable carbon isotopes of the planktonic foraminifera were normalized to limit the difference between test δ13C and δ13CDIC (-0.50‰ for N. dutertrei and +0.94‰ for G. ruber) ((Mulitza et al. (1999, doi:10.1007/978-3-642-58646-0_17); Spero et al. (2003, doi:10.1029/2002PA000814)); The Cd/Ca ratios of N. dutertrei were measured using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS; iCAP-RQ) at the State Key Laboratory of Marine Geology, Tongji University, China).
