Abstract:
This dataset includes sediment grain size, bulk organic geochemistry, and stable carbon isotope data measured at 1-cm resolution along the Irene sediment core from González Fjord, Baker-Martínez fjord system (48°S, Chile). Sediment grain size measurements were carried out with a Malvern Mastersizer 3000 laser particle size analyzer for 12 s in triplicates. The particle size parameters were calculated with GRADISTAT software (Blott and Pye, 2001), and the fine fraction mode was estimated using the Mastersizer software.The GDGT-based BIT and TEXH86 indices were calculated according to Hopmans et al. (2004) and Kim et al. (2010), respectively. TEXH86 values were converted to sea subsurface (0–200 m) temperatures using the regional calibration of Kaiser et al. (2015).
