Abstract:
Quantification of bacteria attached to single Chaetoceros affinis (diatom; RCC6348; roscoff-culture-collection.org) cells before (unfiltered) and after (filtered) the separation of phytoplankton and free-floating bacteria with a 20 µm mesh. Measurements of cell height and diameter of the respective C. affinis cells. Cultures were fixed with formaldehyde and stained with DAPI for epi-fluorescence microscopy.
