Abstract:
The dataset provides the Agulhas Leakage Efficiency (ALE) Index used to evaluate the intensity of the Agulhas Leakage between the Atlantic and the Indian Oceans since the Middle Pleistocene. Located in the southwest Indian Ocean, IODP Hole 361-U1474A lies where the warm Agulhas Current and the cold Antarctic Circumpolar Current (ACC) interact within the Indian Ocean. The ALE Index was calculated following Caley et al. (2014, doi:10.1002/2014GL059278)
