Abstract:
Stable oxygen and carbon isotope data from the planktonic species Neogloboquadrina pachyderma spanning the last deglaciation and early Holocene (16.5 – 10 ka BP) of MSM09/2_455-13 (GeoTü SL 170) from the central eastern Baffin Bay. Measurements were on aliquots of between 11 and 62 specimens from the >150µm fraction of freeze-dried sediment samples. No vital effect correction or global corrections (for e.g., ice volume) have been made. Samples were measured on a Finnigan MAT 251 gas isotope ratio mass spectrometer connected to a Kiel 1 automated carbonate preparation device at MARUM, University of Bremen. The instrument was calibrated against the house standard (ground Solnhofen limestone), which in turn was calibrated against the NBS 19 standard reference material. Over the measurement period the standard deviations of the house standard were 0.03 ‰ for δ13C and 0.06 ‰ for δ18O. Results are presented relative to the Vienna Pee Dee Belemnite (VPDB) using the conventional δ-per-mil notation.
