Abstract:
The bibliography unites raw data and determined melt rates from autonomous phase-sensitive radar (ApRES) measurements on Ekström Ice Shelf. An ApRES is a ground-penetrating frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar that emits chirps for 1 s while increasing the frequency of the electromagnetic wave from 200 to 400 MHz. It is designed to determine the basal melting of the ice shelves by measuring ice thickness changes and vertical displacements in the ice over time. Operated in the autonomous mode, the ApRES performs measurements at a defined time interval, allowing the temporal variability of the melt rate to be determined.
