Abstract:
Here we present a new astronomically tuned age model for the late Pliocene section of ODP site 883. The astronomically tuned age model was developed by correlation of benthic foraminiferal δ18O (3000-3385 Ka) to the δ18O probabilistic stack and the 883 GRAPE WBD composite (2.841-3.0 Ma & 3.385-3.465 Ma) to the nearby ODP 882 carbonate weight %, where the age model is based on tuning GRAPE WBD to calculated solar insolation.
