Compositional results (%) from discrete x-ray fluorescence measurements (WD-XRF) for Site U1516. Excess silica is calculated from the linear relationship between terrigenous silica and aluminum content for marine deep-sea sediments (Turekian and Wedepohl, 1961). Terrigenous content is calculated from the difference between carbonate content and excess silica.
