Abstract:
This dataset includes speleothem cabon isotopes, oxygen isotopes, U-Th ages, and fluid inclusion hydrogen isotopes used to reconstruct climate in the Swiss Alps during the Last Interglacial period (~129 and 116 ka). The speleothems were collected from caves in the Malchsee-Frutt region of Switzerland (46°47' N, 8°16'E, ~1720 m.a.s.l.). The four speleothems (M37-1-16A, M37-1-16C, M6-73-3, and M37-1-23A) used in this dataset were found broken and inactive in the caves. The speleothems represent a stacked record, with a combined ~19 ka years of growth between 132.0 ± 0.5 ka and 112.0 ± 0.5 ka. Speleothem length ranges between 0.13 and 0.88 m. The data colletion was done between 2018 and 2019. The data was obtained using mass spectrometry techniques. This study was funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) grant P300040.
