The chronostratigraphy used here is based on the correlation of the site 758 oxygen isotope record from the planktonic foraminifer Globigerinoides sacculifer (Farell and Janacek, 1991, doi:10.2973/odp.proc.sr.121.124.1991), to the global average oxygen isotope record, the SPECMAP stack (Imbrie et al., 1984). This chronostratigraphy is consistent with biostratigraphic data (Shipboard Scientific party, Site 758,1989, doi:10.2973/odp.proc.ir.121.112.1989) and the disappearance of the pink variety of Globigerinoides ruber at 120 kyr (Shackleton and Opdyke, 1973, doi:10.1016/0033-5894(73)90052-5)
