Comment:
For the interval from 473.85 to 418.18 mbsf, ages of samples in Site 289 were assigned by applying the regression equations derived by Woodruff and Savin (1991). For the interval from 418.18 to 390.34 mbsf, ages were calculated by linear interpolation between the regressed age at 418.18 mbsf ( 13.31 Ma) and the concurrent extinction level of the G. (Fohsella) lineage at 390.34 mbsf, corresponding to an age of 11.8 Ma (Barron et al., 1985 ).
