MD99-2341 (95) * Latitude: 36.389167 * Longitude: -7.065667 * Date/Time: 1999-09-15T20:25:00 * Elevation: -582.0 m * Penetration: 22 m * Recovery: 19.42 m * Location: Gulf of Cádiz, Atlantic Ocean * Campaign: MD114 (IMAGES V) * Basis: Marion Dufresne (1995) * Method/Device: Calypso Corer (CALYPSO) * Comment: segments I to XIII. Site is located on a shallow terrace at depth near the top of the recent MOW. The location is not far from Gibraltar Strait, and it was chosen to gain a proximal MOW signature. High sedimentation rates of approximately 30 cm/kyr on average also allow the assessment of the MOW endmember properties with high resolution. A conventional gravity core of 5.77 m was taken during R/V METEOR cruise M39/1 in April 1997 (1). This record goes back to the last Glacial Maximum, approximately 18 ka B.P.
