Abstract

The production of valuable scientific data is still exponentially growing. Success factors in science are return on investment in politics, excellent scientific projects for scientific funding organisations, good working conditions for scientific institutes and excellent publications for scientists. Therefore these organisations and scientists have different interests in handling scientific data on long-term. To achieve the best and most effective data management scientific data should be published in conjunction with scientific publications at the time of publication using existing national and international data infra structure. This solution is cost effective but requires a new self-evidence for the scientific publication process.
