For many scientific objectives especially in volcanic hazard assessment, it is important to consider the entire edifice. Here, we provide a global data base of geomorphometry of 237 volcanic islands from seafloor to peak calculated from the GEneral Bathymetric Chart of the Ocean (GEBCO) digital elevation model (appr. 450m resolution) with two different methods: 1) the Matlab-based software MorVolc (O'Hara et al., 2024; https://github.com/danjohara/Volc_Packages) and 2) a QGIS model developed by the authors. The delineations of the volcanic islands have been created with the Matlab-based automatic delineation software BoundVolc and are included as geo packages. Additionally, we used the same methods to calculate geomorphometric parameters for the subaerial part of the island from TanDEM-X (appr. 30m resolution). Coastlines are included as geo packages. The Volcano ID is compatible with the databases of the Global Volcanism Program (GVP).</description></descriptions><geoLocations><geoLocation><geoLocationBox><westBoundLongitude>3.351</westBoundLongitude><eastBoundLongitude>-9.930000000000007</eastBoundLongitude><southBoundLatitude>-68.85</southBoundLatitude><northBoundLatitude>59.3626</northBoundLatitude></geoLocationBox></geoLocation></geoLocations><fundingReferences><fundingReference><funderName>European Research Council</funderName><funderIdentifier funderIdentifierType="Crossref Funder ID">https://doi.org/10.13039/501100000781</funderIdentifier><awardNumber awardURI="https://doi.org/10.3030/948797">948797</awardNumber><awardTitle>Slow sliding of volcanic flanks as PREcursor to catastrophic COLLAPSE</awardTitle></fundingReference></fundingReferences></resource>
