The data was collected on board the POLARSTERN during the cruise PS141 using the Teledyne Parasound P70 parametric sub-bottom echosounder mounted on the hull. A secondary low frequency of 4 kHz was used. Data was converted from the PS3 recording format to the SEGY format using the software ps32sgy written by Hanno Keil (University Bremen), in two versions: frequency and envelope. Envelope data exist along the entire trackline, while frequency data were generated for the research area in Antarctic waters only. Navigation was converted to UKOOA format with coordinates in WGS84. SGY and UKOOA fils are named using the starting date and time of the profile (YYYY_MMDD_HHMMSS). Due to the 12-digits-restriction of profile names in the UKOOA format, the first column of the UKOOA file contains a shortened version of the SGY file name (YYMMDDHHMMSS). During POLARSTERN cruise PS141, Parasound data formed the basis for determination of appropriate coring locations. The entire dataset of cruise PS141 is archived here, including data from international waters off Australia (Tasmania) to off Namibia. The target region is the continental shelf of Antarctica between 85°E and 115°E, off the ice margin from Wilhelm-II to Wilkes Land.</description></descriptions><geoLocations><geoLocation><geoLocationBox><westBoundLongitude>14.997291</westBoundLongitude><eastBoundLongitude>141.169581</eastBoundLongitude><southBoundLatitude>-44.143814</southBoundLatitude><northBoundLatitude>-36.202493</northBoundLatitude></geoLocationBox></geoLocation></geoLocations></resource>
