https://www.pangaea.de/ information publisher tableDigital This dataset contains Ice-Rafted Debris (IRD) counts obtained every 10-20 cm (271 samples) on marine sediment core MD07-3119, collected from the Chilean margin in the Southeastern Pacific (-46.083167°N, -76.099833°E; 2523 m water depth) during the R/V Marion Dufresne campaign MD159 (IMAGES XV - Pachiderme). The counting intervals span a core depth range of 545–3190 cm, corresponding to an age range of 16–42 ka cal BP (calculated based on the age-depth model from Andrzejewski et al. (submitted) and Lebeaupin et al. (submitted). IRD were counted in the ≥150 µm fraction obtained after wet sieving and subsequent drying. Grains identified as minerals and terrigenous debris were considered as IRD, but biogenic silica and foraminifera were excluded. IRD were quantitatively counted under a binocular microscope. IRD counts are presented as the number of grains per gram of dry bulk sediment (#IRD/g). This approach provides a first-order estimate of IRD input to the MD07-3119 site. completed Isguder, Gulay
