Here, we present an update of 24 years of full-depth current velocity observations at 0°N, 23°W. With the presented current velocity data product, we aim to provide an important and accessible reference data set against which models and reanalysis output could be validated. The velocity time series will also be helpful for studies focusing on long-term climate variability to search for connections with changes in the equatorial circulation over the last 24 years. Earlier versions of this data product have already been used in a variety of studies and provided a significant contribution to an overall improved understanding of equatorial ocean dynamics. The moored observatory at 0°N, 23°W is an ongoing example of a successful multinational collaboration extending over more than two decades.</description></descriptions><geoLocations><geoLocation><geoLocationBox><westBoundLongitude>-44.25065</westBoundLongitude><eastBoundLongitude>13.49973</eastBoundLongitude><southBoundLatitude>-18.63557</southBoundLatitude><northBoundLatitude>39.00055</northBoundLatitude></geoLocationBox></geoLocation></geoLocations><fundingReferences><fundingReference><funderName>Federal Ministry of Education and Research</funderName><funderIdentifier funderIdentifierType="Crossref Funder ID">https://doi.org/10.13039/501100002347</funderIdentifier><awardNumber>03F0605B</awardNumber><awardTitle>Role of the tropical Atlantic for climate variability in the Atlantic sector (RACE I)</awardTitle></fundingReference><fundingReference><funderName>German Research Foundation</funderName><funderIdentifier funderIdentifierType="Crossref Funder ID">https://doi.org/10.13039/501100001659</funderIdentifier><awardNumber awardURI="https://gepris.dfg.de/project/27542298">27542298</awardNumber><awardTitle>Climate - Biogeochemistry Interactions in the Tropical Ocean</awardTitle></fundingReference><fundingReference><funderName>Horizon 2020 of the European Commission</funderName><funderIdentifier funderIdentifierType="Crossref Funder ID">https://doi.org/10.13039/501100007601</funderIdentifier><awardNumber awardURI="https://doi.org/10.3030/817578">817578</awardNumber><awardTitle>Tropical and South Atlantic climate-based marine ecosystem predictions for sustainable management</awardTitle></fundingReference><fundingReference><funderName>Seventh Framework Programme of the European Commission</funderName><funderIdentifier funderIdentifierType="Crossref Funder ID">https://doi.org/10.13039/100011102</funderIdentifier><awardNumber awardURI="https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/603521">603521</awardNumber><awardTitle>Enhancing Prediction of Tropical Atlantic Climate and its Impact</awardTitle></fundingReference></fundingReferences></resource>
