This dataset contains stable and clumped isotope data obtained from pedogenic carbonates sampled across a continental sedimentary section at Büyükteflek (Anatolia, Turkey). The section spans the Priabonian and lower Rupelian stages (~37–33 Ma), including the Eocene–Oligocene Transition (EOT) and the Early Oligocene Glacial Maximum (~33.65 Ma). Clumped isotope analyses (Δ47) were performed on pedogenic carbonate to reconstruct paleotemperatures, while stable isotope measurements (δ¹³C and δ¹⁸O) were used to document paleoenvironmental and hydrological changes across the record. Together, these data provide the first quantitative terrestrial temperature record of the Late Eocene warming and constrain the magnitude of cooling during the Early Oligocene Glacial Maximum (EOGM) in Balkanatolia. These data were used to document a long-term aridification trend associated with successive warming and cooling events discussed in Botté et al. (in prep.). ** For all details see the full metadata description at "https://doi.pangaea.de/10.1594/PANGAEA.995339"!
