Abstract:
Radiocarbon dating results from sediment cores MOZ4-CS03 and MOZ4-CSF04 collected on 14 November 2015 during the PAMELA-MOZ4 oceanographic cruise offshore northwest Madagascar. Core MOZ4-CS03 represents a non-seep reference site, whereas core MOZ4-CSF04 was recovered from a methane-seep pockmark site. The dataset contains accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) radiocarbon ages obtained on bulk planktic foraminifera from selected sediment depths. Reported parameters include core location, sampling depth, laboratory number, conventional radiocarbon age, analytical uncertainty (1σ), calibrated calendar age ranges (2σ), and stable carbon isotope composition (δ13C) of the dated material. These radiocarbon measurements provide chronological constraints for the sedimentary sequences and were used to reconstruct the depositional history and constrain sediment burial in diagenetic model simulations for the reference and seep sites.
