The annual glacier surface mass balance of Stubacher Sonnblickkees (Hohe Tauern) has been measured since 2017 using the direct glaciological method in the fixed date system (1st October to 30th September of the following year; the accumulation during the winter is determined by 30th April). Snow accumulation is determined by calculating the water equivalent in snow pits and soundings, while ice melt is measured using ablation stakes. Results include the annual net mass balance, total accumulation and ablation, equilibrium line altitude and the specific mass balances per year and per winter- and summer season. ** For all details see the full metadata description at "https://doi.pangaea.de/10.1594/PANGAEA.993888"!
