Core MD99-2304 was retrieved from the eastern Fram Strait (77°37'15.6N, 9°56'54E), with a CALYPSO piston corer, from 1348 m water depth during the Marion Dufresne IMAGES 5 expedition (leg MD114) in 1999. Measurements were done on the benthic foraminifera species Cassidulina neoteretis and Melonis barleeanus, in FARLAB at the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Bergen, using a MAT253 mass spectrometer coupled to a Kiel IV preparation line. Measurements were done between year 2022 and 2025. Results are calibrated to Vienna Pee Dee Belemnite (VPDB) using NBS 19 and NBS 18 and Carrara Marble (CM12) as a working standard. The results provide information on water mass characteristics of intermediate water in the eastern Fram Strait.</description></descriptions><geoLocations><geoLocation><geoLocationPoint><pointLongitude>9.9483333333333</pointLongitude><pointLatitude>77.621066666667</pointLatitude></geoLocationPoint></geoLocation><geoLocation><geoLocationPlace>Spitsbergen slope</geoLocationPlace></geoLocation></geoLocations><fundingReferences><fundingReference><funderName>The Research Council of Norway</funderName><funderIdentifier funderIdentifierType="Crossref Funder ID">https://doi.org/10.13039/501100005416</funderIdentifier><awardNumber awardURI="https://prosjektbanken.forskningsradet.no/en/project/FORISS/325333">325333</awardNumber><awardTitle>Abrupt Arctic Climate Change</awardTitle></fundingReference></fundingReferences></resource>
