This isotope gradient reflects the accumulation of respired and disequilibrium carbon in the deep Pacific ocean relative to the North Atlantic. Also included are binned probstack δ18O (Ahn et al., 2017) and ΔGMST (Clark et al., 2024) values for comparison to the binned stable carbon isotope values.</description><description descriptionType="TechnicalInfo">Methods:<br/>Cibicidoides δ13C data from each site were binned by marine isotope stage (MIS) as defined by Lisiecki &amp; Raymo (2005) before calculating their difference to minimize data artefacts due to minor differences in age model assignment. <br/>For comparison to the derived Δδ13C982-807 (‰) values, we also calcualted binned probstack benthic δ18O (Ahn et al., 2017) and ΔGMST (Clark et al., 2024).<br/>The code that automates data binning by marine isotope stage is available in the supplementary materials of the manuscript.</description></descriptions><geoLocations><geoLocation><geoLocationBox><westBoundLongitude>-15.854183333333</westBoundLongitude><eastBoundLongitude>156.625</eastBoundLongitude><southBoundLatitude>3.6066666666667</southBoundLatitude><northBoundLatitude>57.512666666667</northBoundLatitude></geoLocationBox></geoLocation><geoLocation><geoLocationPlace>North Pacific Ocean</geoLocationPlace></geoLocation><geoLocation><geoLocationPlace>North Atlantic Ocean</geoLocationPlace></geoLocation></geoLocations></resource>
