Grain-size analyses were performed using laser diffraction after removal of carbonates and organic matter. TOC and δ¹³C-bulk were determined by elemental analysis–isotope ratio mass spectrometry (EA-IRMS) following acidification to remove inorganic carbon. The data provide information on sedimentological variability and bulk organic matter composition through the Holocene and are intended to support investigations of sediment dynamics, organic carbon burial, and paleoenvironmental changes on the southwestern Atlantic shelf.</description></descriptions><geoLocations><geoLocation><geoLocationBox><westBoundLongitude>-52.21</westBoundLongitude><eastBoundLongitude>-51.3</eastBoundLongitude><southBoundLatitude>-33.79</southBoundLatitude><northBoundLatitude>-33.27</northBoundLatitude></geoLocationBox></geoLocation><geoLocation><geoLocationPlace>Brazilian southeastern continental shelf</geoLocationPlace></geoLocation></geoLocations><fundingReferences><fundingReference><funderName>São Paulo Research Foundation</funderName><funderIdentifier funderIdentifierType="Crossref Funder ID">https://doi.org/10.13039/501100001807</funderIdentifier><awardNumber awardURI="https://bv.fapesp.br/pt/bolsas/174327/mudbelts-do-sul-e-sudeste-do-brasil-implicacoes-sobre-as-influencias-antropicas-no-ambiente-marinho/">17/20344-7</awardNumber><awardTitle>Mudbelts of Southern and Southeast Brazil: Implications on anthropogenic influences on the marine environment</awardTitle></fundingReference></fundingReferences></resource>
