Abstract:
During an expedition to the Taimyr peninsula in summer 2013, full panoramic images of the sampled vegetation plots were captured for documentation purposes. The images were taken with a standard camera (Nikon Coolpix P7000) from the centre of the vegetation plots. At each, multiple rows of images in all directions were recorded holding the camera at a fixed position at breast height (1.3 m above ground). The images were stitched in Autopano Giga 4 (Kolor) and humans or other artificial objects masked if possible. Blended images were exported to 360x180 panorama images (12980x6490). The panorama image was manually checked for gaps or human shadow errors which were healed with GIMP resynthesizer plugin (https://github.com/bootchk/resynthesizer). The final file was quality improved automatic tone balanace applying Fred's ImageMagick Scripts (http://www.fmwconcepts.com/imagemagick/autotone2/index.php Copyright © Fred Weinhaus). The final output was adjusted in size (7776x3888 pixels) to match the other full panorama projects of other expeditions.

13-TY-02-VII * Latitude: 72.548840 * Longitude: 105.745760 * Date/Time: 2013-07-13T00:00:00 * Campaign: RU-Land_2013_Taymyr (Taymyr2013) * Basis: AWI Arctic Land Expedition * Method/Device: Sampling by hand (HAND) * Comment: Slight north slope; few individuals, these with a distinctive crooked wood form; many open spots with stones and fine sand without stones (about 5% open); flowering aspect purple and yellow lathyrus; rather dry; many reindeer tracks; one individual has basic stems in a depression where it is very cold, sometimes even frozen, those stems were very brittle and show a late phenotype (small needles, pale and yellowish). German description: Leichter Nordhang; wenig Inidividuen, diese mit ausgeprägter Krummholzform; viele offene Stellen mit Steinen und feinen Sand ohne Steine (ca 5% offen); Blühaspekt lila und gelbe Lathyrus; eher trocken; viele Rentierspuren; bei einen Individuum liegen Grundstämme in einer Senke in der es sehr kalt ist, teilweise sogar gefroren, jene Stämme waren sehr brüchig und zeigen einen späten Phänotyp (kleine Nadeln, blass und gelblich)

German description: Trockene Fläche mit vielen Moosen und Flechten die trocken sind; sehr geringe Einschlagspuren, in weiterer Umgebung mehr; Eislinsen sind z.T. direkt in Löchern anstehend; Bäume stehen sehr locker und viele wachsen mit mehreren Stämmen, bei diesen sind die Spitzen abgestorben und aus Ästen wurden neu aufragende Stämme; wenige offene Stellen; Kuppenlage, aber sehr flach und weit ausgedehnt
