Abstract:

This dataset consists of wind measurements taken by the Metek 3D Ultrasonic Anemometer uSonic-3 Cage MP during the Polarstern cruise PS144 (Rabe & Geibert 2025) in summer and early fall 2024 from August 9th to October 13th. The anemometer was mounted on a pole at a height of 175 cm above the upper Peildeck (Observation Deck) and measured continuously at 0.1 Hz during transit and stationwork.

Comment:

The ultrasonic anemometer was mounted with its 'North' direction pointed towards the bow of the ship. Values are relative to ship position and speed which are downloaded from DAVIS SHIP data base (https://dship.awi.de) and added to the dataset.
