Abstract:
We present stable C and O isotope data and radiocarbon ages in the Nordic Seas as tracers of peak-glacial-to-Heinrich-1 changes of surface and deep-water temperature, salinity, nutrient content, ventilation, and ventilation age, now age-recalibrated by means of the 14C-plateau tuning technique. Its results compare well with ages of the NGRIP incremental age scale. Radiogenic Nd and Th/U isotopes are used to constrain the differential origins of bottom waters feeding the Denmark Strait Overflow.
