Abstract:
The main objectives of the study are to characterize the sedimentary structures observed in the area where internal waves interact with the seafloor and to identify the interaction and breaking mechanisms that result in seafloor erosion and sediment resuspension. We measured current velocity with a vessel-mounted Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (VM-ADCP) OS75 off Namibia (SE Atlantic Ocean). The data was collected during R/V METEOR cruise M122 in 2016.

Comment:
The vessel-mounted OS75 ADCP was operated in broadband mode, with 100 bins and a bin size of 8 m and the first bin starts at 12.52 m. The average ensemble interval is 1 min. The VM-ADCP data were processed using the Cascade V7.2 software (Le Bot et al., 2011). A horizontal and vertical filter and a correction of the amplitude of 1.06 were applied. Data accepted after processing include flags 1 and 2.
