Through scanning the core with CT (computer tomograph) following the methodology of Titschack et al. (2015; 2016), we analyse the coral content at high resolution (Volume %). This contributes to a multi-step analysis of the core with the aim to calculate the total carbon accumulation within the coral mound. Due to the large size of the data set, the record is presented at a 5cm running-average interval. The data points show the volumetric values (mm³) and share (%) of cold-water corals within the sediment core, as well as the remaining matrix sediment fraction.</description></descriptions><geoLocations><geoLocation><geoLocationPoint><pointLongitude>-2.5822166666667</pointLongitude><pointLatitude>35.3107</pointLatitude></geoLocationPoint></geoLocation><geoLocation><geoLocationPlace>Alboran Sea - E-Melilla - Dragon Mound</geoLocationPlace></geoLocation></geoLocations><fundingReferences><fundingReference><funderName>German Research Foundation</funderName><funderIdentifier funderIdentifierType="Crossref Funder ID">https://doi.org/10.13039/501100001659</funderIdentifier><awardNumber awardURI="https://gepris.dfg.de/gepris/projekt/390741603">390741603</awardNumber><awardTitle>EXC 2077: The Ocean Floor – Earth's Uncharted Interface</awardTitle></fundingReference></fundingReferences></resource>
