Abstract:
Underway temperature and salinity data was collected along the cruise track with two autonomous measurement systems. Usually, the systems are changed after 6-12 hours. While temperature is taken at the water inlet in about 6.5 m depth, salinity is estimated within the interior measurement container from conductivity and interior temperature. Temperature and salinity were calibrated against CTD data from 7 m depth. For details to all processing steps see Data Processing Report.

Comment:
Temperature was calibrated independently for both MCs against CTD data from 7 m depth. Value added to temperature data MC1 = 0.000821. Value added to temperature data MC2 = -0.000905.
Salinity was calibrated independently for both MCs against CTD data from 7 m depth (tim is the time in days since Expocode of this cruise (06M220230510), i.e. since 2023-05-10T00:00:00): Value added to salinity data MC1 = 0.0006717*tim+0.02362. Value added to salinity data MC2 = -0.0001845*tim-0.01826.
The salinity samples taken directly from the water inlet and attached to this dataset were not used for calibration.
