Abstract:
Multibeam bathymetry data using the ship's own Kongsberg EM 122 multibeam echosounder was almost continuously recorded during RV METEOR cruise M126. Data was recorded on 28 days between 2016-04-20 and 2016-05-20. This dataset contains a survey only of the working area in the North Atlantic Ocean at the Mid-Atlantic ridge between 12° and 15° N. The approximate average depth of this working area dataset is around 3100m. Data are also covering partially the Fersman Seamount.
The data have been cleaned for navigational errors and manually cleaned from outlines with MB System (V. 5.5.2270), than exported to raster formats (.asc, .grd) with 50m and 200m grid size. Raster data in this dataset have the projection EPSG:4326. In addition, the raster file of the 50m grid (.grd) is also exported to a .xyz format, including "nan (not a number) values".
This publication is conducted within the efforts of the German Marine Research Alliance in the core area 'Data management and Digitalization' (Deutsche Allianz Meeresforschung, DAM).

These data should not be used for navigational purposes.
The original processed bathymetry dataset (doi:10.1594/PANGAEA.869460) was archived in 2016 but not published until April 2023. This dataset has been archived again according to PANGAEA standards. Data publishing was realized by Daniel Damaske & Marianne Rehage, MARUM - Center for Marine Environmental Sciences (University Bremen).
