Abstract:
These sea ice photographs were taken during the 2022 Southern oCean seAsonaL Experiment (SCALE) cruise aboard South Africa's polar research vessel, the SA Agulhas II. The images depict the various sea ice types and concentrations encountered in the marginal ice zone. The images were obtained to better understand how in-situ sea ice conditions compare to those described by remote-sensed and modelled sea ice data.
