Abstract:
Laboratory O2 clumped-isotope data (as D36 values measured at Rice University) for air occluded in ice core GISP2-D spanning gas ages of 18000-21000 ky BP for the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM). Modeled atmospheric history for the LGM via outputs of the GISS-E2.1 driven and Data Assimilation (DAv2.0) driven chemical transport model incorporated into a 2-box model of the atmosphere.

Both systems utilized steel logging cables. The depth calibration factor for the UCPH system was determined from the measured length of the GRIP ice core while the USGS system was calibrated using a fiberglass tape measure with a low coefficient of thermal expansion. The accuracy of the depth measurements for both systems is estimated to be 2-3 m at a depth of 3 km. Inclination/azimuth measurements from the UCPH logger have been used to calculate the true vertical depth of the borehole from the measured total slant length. UCPH/true vertical depth (m):3047.8 slant length (m):3056.5 USGS/true vertical depth (m):3047.9, slant length (m):3056.6
