Abstract:
A Garmin GPSmap 62sc device was taken to each snowpit event to get the location measurement. If no GPS file is found, further GPS details can be retrieved from the SMP device and the NIR camera. The event metadata also has location information in the form of a location name for each event. This location name indicates a site of interest and can be used to track repetitive measurements in the moving absolute location on the floe.
