Abstract:
The dataset comprises the linescanner images of sediment core PS51/038-4. The measurements were conducted with the Avaatech Color Line Scan System at the Alfred Wegener Institute (camera system Jai 3CCD CV-L105 with manually controlled Cosmicar/Pentax YF5028 50mm F2.8/22 lens). The image resolution is ±150 pixels cm-1 in cross-core and down-core direction (colour sampling 8 bits). The image covers approx. 13 cm in cross-core and approx. 125 cm maximum in down-core direction. Individual pixel calibration was conducted on a white reference tile. All cores were imaged using an aperture setting of f/8. Data are stored in compressed (.jpeg) file.
