Abstract:	Biomarker and pollen data for IODP Site U1478 spanning the Plio-Pleistocene (4 to 1.8 Ma). Organic geochemical data includes the hydrogen isotopic composition of leaf waxes (dDwax, ‰), corrected for changes in ice volume and used to reconstruct hydroclimate, median BAYSPAR calibrated TEX86 sea surface temperatures (°C), and the Branched and Isoprenoid Tetraether (BIT) index. Pollen data include the relative abundance (%) of Cyperaceae, Poaceae, Podocarpus, Asteraceae, Ericaceae, and Buxus spp.
