Abstract:
Spectra and quantitative analyses (corrected on salt-free basis) on 22 samples from JC138-16GC, JC138-22RD, JC138-28GC, JC138-29GC and JC138-31RD. Quantitative XRD analyses were carried out on bulk, ground and dried Fe oxyhydroxide sediments after powdering and mixing with a known amount of corundum (25% by weight) with a Philips X'Pert pro with a Cu tube (Kα λ = 1.541) coupled to Siroquant XRD software. Minerals were identified by comparison with the International Centre for Diffraction Data database, PDF-2 at the University of Southampton. Detection limit of unknown crystalline minerals is c. 1 wt%.
