The analytical precision of the DIC concentration measurements accounted for ±0.01 mg l−1. Deviations of the δ13C values of DIC in the incubated samples (duplicate measurements) were between ±0.2‰ and ±6.0‰ (for specific 13C releases of >800‰).
Reported TOC contents and δ13C values of the incubated samples were measured in duplicate with deviations of <0.001% for the TOC content and up to ±0.3‰ for the δ13C values.
