Abstract:
In this work, we collected and validated a dataset of 391 slope instability events, documented from 2000 to 2016, at high elevation (above 1500 m a.s.l.), in the Italian Alps. Most of these events have been analyzed by means of a statistical-based approach to assess the role of climate forcing in their preparation and/or triggering and to detect the eventual signal related to climate change. This dataset is one of the very few in the world for high-mountain environments, considering both the number of events collected and the quality of their spatio-temporal localization.
